Area Map

Bordered on two sides by the impressive Stanislaus and Mokelumne Rivers, the Ebbetts Pass Wonderland is host to many lakes, streams and reservoirs, making recreation a premium resource. Protection of the wilderness will never be gained by simply issuing a set of rules and regulations. It must come with your love and understanding of the land.

Please keep the wildlife wild. Keep your distance from any wild animal; observe and enjoy the animal, but don’t feed or touch. This is bear territory. For your safety and the health of the bears please keep all food or other odorous material and ice chests out of sight and dispose of garbage in a bear-proof dumpster.

Drink only from developed systems at recreation sites. If you must drink from open sources, it is recommended you boil, treat or filter the water first. Fires are permitted in designated fire rings; fire permits are required outside developed recreation areas and are available from the Calaveras Ranger District Office for wilderness areas.

Whether you decide to take in one or all of the recreational opportunities or just sit back and enjoy the clean mountain air, we ask that you take pride in treating these lands gently and leave no trace of your visit behind.

Sometimes when you have already used Ask Jeeves to search for how does stress affect health info and still need more, do not forget about your local library.
